A Few Words From Inspired Autosport:
Yep, while everyone else is either downsizing or adding tech features to increase efficiency (see the new Chevy LT1 in the 2014 C7 Chevy Corvette), SRT did not. Instead, it simply tweaked the formula of the 8.4-liter 10-cylinder and managed to crank out an additional 40 horsepower. SRT also looked to the scales to increase the performance of the new Viper. Thanks to a new chassis and carbon-fiber body panels, the SRT Viper is down about 100 pounds from its Dodge predecessor, while having 50 percent more torsional rigidity.
This 2014 SRT Viper GTS owner did not want to take delivery of the car without us adding the ‘Inspired’ touch. The car arrived with just deliver miles on the odometer. First off was a full 3M frozen black wrap which now shows off all the Viper’s curves. Eibach custom coil springs provided us with a lowered stance. That stance was needed because we had the team at PUR wheels make us a custom one-off version of their LX14 wheel with 6 spokes instead of 5. Sizes were up’d for both front and rear over stock, 20″ and 21″ now shod with 335/25/21 Pirelli P Zero tires. These are both lighter and wider than the factory wheels and helped fill in those massive wheel wells.
After the cosmetic surgery was complete, we turned our attention to more power. Yes, 640HP was not enough. An Agency-Power Cold Air Intake and Titanium Exhaust System now help this 8.4L breathe more freely and sound demonic. A custom bespoke ECU tune help bring this beast to 700HP plus. The car is simply a savage now to say the least.
